The City of Weyburn's summer programming and amenities will soon be coming to a close, with the last day to swim in the Weyburn Leisure Centre outdoor pool this Labour Day, Monday, September 1st.

While the $5 family swim is a mainstay on Sunday evenings, this Monday, there will be two more opportunities for families to take advantage of the deal and enjoy the pool one last time before it closes for the season. The first family swim is from 9 to 11:45 a.m., with another one in the afternoon from 1:15 to 4:15 p.m.

"Winterizing of the outdoor pool is a substantial process so we do have to give that time," explained Communications Coordinator Paige Tenbult.

The last day to enjoy the spray park at Don Mitchell Tot Lot and the Young Fellows paddling pool, as well as the spray park at River Park, is September 14th.

"Overnight temperatures are already dropping, so we have to take time to winterize those lines, and that begins on September 15th."

While the pool will be open Labour Day, the Credit Union Spark Centre will be closed for the statutory holiday. It will also be closed on September 30th for another statutory holiday, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The winter hours will take effect at the Spark Centre on October 1st.

Summer hours, June 1st to September 30th, have been 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. The winter hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
