Wazin Îchinabi Ti, also known as the House of Oneness, has been named the 2025 Cochrane Labour Day Parade Marshal.
The non-profit is being recognized for its work in reconciliation, wellness, and building connections among Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
“We are very happy to announce the House of Oneness in recognition of all the work they do to bridge communities and understanding,” says Marina Chabbert, chair of the Cochrane and Area Events Society (CAES). “They are always trying to bring us together, which is such an important effort.”
Wazin Îchinabi Ti provides inclusive programs and services that encourage dignity, respect, peace, and prosperity. The group promotes Truth and Reconciliation principles and creates space for community-based opportunities.
Chabbert says the selection process included a public call for nominations. “We cannot be the eyes and ears of everybody, so we ask the community to tell us who has made a real difference. This year, the House of Oneness filled that role perfectly.”
