Portage la Prairie RCMP seek public’s assistance after attempted break and enter
On August 8, 2025, at approximately 6:20 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP were dispatched to a report of a break and enter on Royal Road.
When officers arrived on scene, they were advised by the residents that two male suspects who stated they were RCMP officers asked them to open the door.
The suspects then tried to push their way inside, breaking a door and a window on the porch of the residence. After not gaining entry, they fled in a white sedan.
The initial investigation has determined one of the suspects is 27-year-old Christian Meeches from Long Plain First Nation. RCMP have issued a Warrant for his arrest.
RCMP are looking to identify the other suspect who was wearing a white hoodie during the incident.
