The Okotoks Dawgs have been recognized for their athletic prowess.
The Okotoks Dawgs 18U Black team has been ranked 2nd place in all of North America, among the elite travel teams, by Perfect Game, which is the leading amateur baseball scouting service in the world.
On top of just completing a dominant season that saw the club post a staggering 60-5-1 record against elite high school aged academies and travel teams, the Dawgs won 6 of the 7 elite tournament championships they competed in this season.
That includes the wins at the Best of the West (which is Canada's premier 18U tournament), the Perfect Game 18U World Series in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Curt Daniels Tournament, which is regarded as the top youth baseball showcase in the Pacific Northwest.
Not only that, but the Dawgs 18U Black were able to knock the #1 ranked USA Prime Scout Team out of Texas in the championship match in the Perfect Game World Series.
This 18U team is coached by former college and professional pitcher, Jess Duda, college standout, Bretton Gouthro, and former San Francisco Giant minor leaguer, Tyler Hollick.
The Okotoks Dawgs 18U also had 17 college commits, which include 10 NCAA Division I scholarship signees.
This 2025 season saw 100 per cent graduation rate in college placements across the Dawgs Academy, and over $3 million in scholarships for Dawgs players.
2025 also saw four MLB Draft selections for the Dawgs.
Tim Piasentin was a 5th round pick for the Toronto Blue Jays, Canon Reeder was an 18th round pick for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tyrelle Chadwick was an 18th round pick for the Colorado Rockies, and Max Poirier was picked up by the Kansas City Royals.
Not to be outdone, the Dawgs 18U Red team, who is coached by former college head coach Bryan Donohue and Quinn Tocheniuk, ranked 40th amongst the top travel teams in North America.
The Dawgs continue to grow and add to their facility at Seaman Stadium Complex.
New this year is the expanded weight and training room, which offers the players state-of-the-art equipment, a 6500 sq.ft. Hitting and Pitching Lab that has multiple pitching and hitting lanes with analytical technology, along with a "Mind Gym" that helps to enhance mental performance training.
The gym enhancements will help ensure the Dawgs remain the country's premier youth academy and development program.
