A suspect wanted on over 30 charges across Alberta and Saskatchewan has been arrested following a joint police operation.
On Aug. 22, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and the Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit arrested 41-year-old Scott Dolbec at a residence in Edmonton.
Dolbec was wanted on 33 outstanding charges from Edmonton, Redwater, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc and Swan Hills, as well as a charge of escape lawful custody out of Saskatoon.
Police say Dolbec attempted to flee on an electric pedal bike but was taken into custody after a brief pursuit.
He was remanded into custody after appearing before a Justice of the Peace and faces multiple court dates across different court houses.
“Targeting repeat and prolific offenders is a team effort, and this arrest is a strong example of how crime reduction units across Alberta work together to protect our communities,” said Const. Tom Rutland of Wetaskiwin RCMP.
