Estevan police responded to a busy day of calls on August 26, including a weapons seizure, an attempted break-in, and reports of disturbances, alarms, and erratic driving.

A 29-year-old man from Saskatoon was charged with possession of weapons dangerous to the public following a traffic stop. The weapons were seized.

In the northeast, officers investigated a report of a suspicious person. A resident said someone had set up a tent in their backyard but had left, leaving a bicycle behind. Police located the individual and issued a warning.

EPS responded to a residential alarm in the Pleasantdale area, which was determined to be false. The homeowner was spoken to. Officers also investigated a report of suspected gunshots in a residential area. While patrolling the area, they found three roofing companies working on houses, likely causing the noise.

Police mediated a parking complaint at a business parking lot and responded to a burglar alarm at a local business, which had been triggered in error during maintenance.

A UTV was reported stuck in a ditch near a local gas station. Officers spoke with the operator, warned them about city bylaws prohibiting UTVs on city streets, and asked them not to drive within city limits.

In Hillcrest, police investigated a report of someone attempting to gain access to a residence. Officers patrolled the area and spoke with individuals; the matter remains under investigation.

A 60-year-old man was arrested at a local liquor establishment for causing a disturbance while intoxicated and was held in cells until sober.

EPS also received a report of a Black Dodge truck driving erratically; the vehicle was not located. Police responded to a domestic dispute in the Trojan area, mediated the situation, and no further action was required.
