Police have arrested a man in connection with a break-in and theft from earlier this month.

Swift Current Municipal RCMP detained and charged 25-year-old Blaine Charles Peters.

His charges include:

  • Break and Enter contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and
  • 2 counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

This isn't Peters' first brush with the law.

He was sentenced to 120 days in jail last September after being convicted of attempted break-and-enter, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and failing to comply with a release order.

RCMP then arrested Peters again in February of this year on similar charges.

He was scheduled to appear in court this morning on those charges and is now set to appear in court on Friday for these new charges.

This recent break and enter occurred sometime between August 4th and August 8th.

Police say various designer clothing, jewelry, and other property associated with the break-in are still missing.

The RCMP is still looking for information on the location of those items.
