Shelter worker Cayla Shelly said they surpassed their $3,500 goal by $3,000, which means they will have extra to cover surgeries needed for other dogs at the shelter.
"The item that brought the most money was the load of gravel donated by Gibson Welding. That did very well. Probably the item that was everybody's favorite was the handmade crocheted cat couch that was stuffed full of catnip. It went really well, and everybody commented on how they really thought it was a great item."
Shelly said there were bidders in the hundreds showing support for the shelter.
"We'd just like to say thank you to everybody for donating and everybody who bid, and we really appreciate the community support that we were given throughout this."
The shelter is offering a $50 adoption fee until the end of August.
