About 150 people packed into Streets Steakhouse & Bar on Wednesday night for a chance to win the Big Ticket: Morgan Wallen in Edmonton presented by Streets Steakhouse & Bar. The prize package included two tickets to Wallen’s I’m the Problem Tour at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton and a night’s stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Edmonton North.
Over the past six weeks, 75 listeners followed 800 CHAB, Country 100 and Mix 103 for their chance to qualify for the grand prize giveaway — the Big Ticket Bash. From those entries, 75 qualifiers were narrowed down to the final 10.
Each finalist received a key fob to a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss from Murray GM. If their key fob unlocked the truck, the prize was theirs.
The moment Cheryl Holden pressed her key fob and the lights flashed, sparks flew and celebration erupted, she realized luck had turned in her favour. “I was a little in shock. I didn’t think the lights and that would go off,” she laughed. “I didn’t have a very good day today as far as luck was concerned, so this really turned things around.”
For Holden, this is more than just a night out — it will be her first major live show. “I’ve never been to a big concert like that before, so it’s pretty exciting,” she said. With close to 70,000 fans expected to pack the stadium, she knows it will be a night to remember.
She’s especially looking forward to the star-studded lineup. “Miranda Lambert’s pretty good — she’s a country singer I like,” Holden said. “And Morgan Wallen, I’ve only ever seen him on TV. To be in the same area and hear all his music live, it’s exciting.”
She won’t be going alone. “Well, it’s gotta be my husband, of course,” she said when asked who she’d bring. The trip will also give her a chance to see family. “We’ve got some kids there with grandkids, so it’ll be nice to see them too.”
Holden explained how she entered the contest: “It was in the mall at T-Land. I had to do the QR code and then the next day I got the phone call.”
That one small scan led to the biggest win of her life: tickets to see Morgan Wallen’s tour at Commonwealth Stadium, with special guests Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley.
