The Weyburn Police Service attended a local residence on Saturday in response to a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that a man had assaulted a woman and threatened to harm another man, he was also found to be highly intoxicated.

Deputy Chief Shane St. John says the man had already been charged numerous times in the past, and the incident was also in violation of his conditions.

“He was breaching his conditions by being at the residence, assault with a weapon, uttering threats. So there were multiple charges there. That person has been in trouble in the past, so it'll be up to the courts whether or not he is released going forward.”

St. John explains that the breach of conditions is twofold, as he was not supposed to be at the residence or in contact with the resident. The man has been held in custody for a future court date.
