Estevan police and emergency services responded to a variety of incidents across the city this week, including wellness checks, thefts, disturbances, and a reported gunshot.
A wellness check was conducted by EPS and EMS after a male resident was located safe in his home.
Police are investigating a reported theft at a local gas station. In a separate incident, a theft from a backyard was reported; authorities have identified a suspect and the matter remains under investigation.
A disturbance in the Hillside area resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Estevan woman on assault charges. She was previously subject to conditions prohibiting contact with the victim. She has been released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Officers also responded to an unrelated disturbance, speaking with two individuals and mediating a resolution. Both parties, who live in separate residences, agreed to have no further contact for the night.
A report of a gunshot in the Pleasantdale area prompted a police response. After patrolling the area, officers determined with input from residents that the sound was likely fireworks.
