The Town of Diamond Valley is advising residents that a black bear was spotted at the local disc golf course.

“Fall is a busy season for wildlife, and it’s common to see bears moving through town at this time of year,” the Town of Diamond Valley said in a Facebook post. “Please use extra caution when enjoying outdoor spaces.”

The town urges residents and visitors to stay alert, give wildlife plenty of space, never approach or feed wild animals, keep pets on a leash, and ensure there are no attractants, such as food, around homes and recreation areas.

Dangerous wildlife encounters should be reported directly to Alberta Fish & Wildlife by calling 310-0000, then 403-932-2388.
