The annual charity golf tournament saw a great turnout this year, with 28 teams participating, up from 24 last year. Organizers say nearly $7,500 was raised, funding scholarships, community programs, and donations to families in need.

Roxanne Pratt, one of the event coordinators, says the tournament keeps growing in spirit as well as size. “We had a great turnout. Considering the state of the economy and challenges in the oilfield, raising just shy of $7,500 is amazing,” she said. “These funds allow us to continue scholarships, our PJ Project, Angel Tree program, and support families again this year.”

Adding to the fun, the tournament featured a redneck theme, with participants sporting plaid, camouflage, and cut-off jeans instead of traditional golf attire. “It just adds a little something extra to the day,” Pratt said. “It’s exciting to see what people come up with year to year.”

The funds also support Dustin’s Corner at the local hospital, a space where children in the emergency department can play and feel at ease. “It’s probably one of our biggest donations. Seeing him remembered in this way makes us proud of what we’ve been able to do,” Pratt added.

The day also featured a special moment of remembrance, as all teams gathered with their golf carts to take part in a toast to Dustin before play began. Photos from the day will be shared by organizers to capture the spirit of the event.

Looking ahead, next year will mark the 10th anniversary of the tournament, set for August 22, 2026. The exact date of Dustin’s passing. Pratt said organizers are planning to make it an “extra special tournament” to mark the milestone.

Registration for next year’s event can be done by email or through the Dustin Pratt Memorial Fund Facebook page. “We just want to thank everybody who donated raffle prizes, came out to support us, and all the kind words that we get from people,” Pratt added. “It makes us proud to keep his memory alive.”
