A person from southern Alberta has been charged in connection to child pornography.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) Alberta Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit and the Fort Macleod RCMP executed a warrant at a residence in the community, which resulted in a person being charged with possession of child pornography, and more.
52-year-old Jerry Lee Thompson was arrested and has been charged with:
- Child Pornography - Transmits, makes available, distributes or sells
- Child Pornography - Possession
- Child Pornography - Accessing
- Failing to comply with a court order
Thompson had been investigated and charged by ALERT ICE previously for similar offences and was bound by a court ordered release conditions related to the previous charges at the time this search warrant was executed.
Thompson remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3.
