The Brother Bicker Band has been bringing their self-described "maple whiskey rock n roll" to Calgary and beyond for the past decade, blending roots, country, folk and southern rock into a sound that is uniquely Canadian.

"We’ve been together about 10 years now," says vocalist and guitarist Jeremy Hrdlicka. "We mostly write our own stuff, but we like to mix in that cross-genre feel. It’s about making music that feels real and connects with people."

The seven-member band features Taylor Miles on drums, Jim Duncan on bass, Ben Ellard on keys, Tom Mogan on guitar and vocals, Hrdlicka on guitar and vocals, and newcomers Jennele Coulson and Claire Wilkes on vocals.

"It’s always a party, so if you come to see us, get ready to dance."

Hrdlicka says the addition of Coulson and Wilkes brought a new energy to the group. "They came in when we were recording our last album and we wanted those big backing vocals, kind of a Rolling Stones ‘Gimme Shelter’ feel."

The band has had a busy 2025, including headlining Canada Day at Calgary’s iconic King Eddy and preparing new material. "We’ve been doing a lot of writing and getting ready for the studio," says Hrdlicka. "We’ve got a new song coming out in October called The Good Road."

Along with the release, the group is planning a southern Alberta tour with stops in Calgary, Lethbridge, Brooks and Diamond Valley. They will also return for a second year at the Calgary Wrangler Fest in December.

Giving back to the community is also a priority. Last year the band launched a cancer fundraiser tied to their holiday single and will host the event again this November.

"It’s become a big part of what we do."
