The City of Estevan welcomed residents to Citywide Registration this week, giving families a chance to explore programs and activities available this fall. City representatives shared information on registration, schedules, and opportunities for all ages, emphasizing community engagement and the importance of participating in local events. Alyssa Moseley, Recreation Director for Estevan Gymnastics, says Citywide Registration is off to a strong start. “Citywide is going pretty good. We are already filling up; four of our classes are full, but there’s still room in several others,” Moseley explained. This fall, the club is introducing new classes for infants and toddlers and is also gearing up for the annual Princess Ball. Lyn Vilcu, teen programmer at the Estevan Public Library, shared that the event was “fabulous. We’ve had lots of people stopping by, and everyone seems excited about our fall programming.” The library continues to host children’s and teen programs, including after-hours events for tweens and teens. At the Souris Valley Museum, Brianna Robinson reported steady interest throughout the evening. “We’ve had familiar faces and new families stopping by, asking about our preschool programs, homeschool classes, and no-school-day activities. Estevan Toastmasters is welcoming new members this fall. Erin McCoy, vice president of education, said, “We are excited to help people find their voice and build leadership skills. Estevan Figure Skating Club coach Ashley Piper noted a successful registration night, saying, “Our pre-can program for three-year-olds filled up fast, and we are planning a second session. Ella Goodmanson from the Coaler Rollers Roller Derby emphasized the confidence-building benefits of the sport. “Roller derby is for everyone. Music instructor Paulina Hernik highlighted her MYC music program for children ages 2–4. “It’s group-based, and parents learn alongside their children. Special Olympics Estevan coordinator Tiffany Fisher shared that registration “went amazing. For sports enthusiasts, Pat Ford of Estevan Minor Football said, “Practices are in full swing, and our first games are this weekend. Shane Davenport from the ESBA Student Basketball Association noted that registration “has been going really well. Manager of the Estevan Curling Club Pauline Ziehl Grimsrud reported a successful Citywide Registration. “It went really well. We had kids both returning and registering for the first time sign up, which is great as we gear up for a fantastic season,” she said. Programs begin October 28 on Tuesdays and November 2 on Sundays, with youth-oriented events including school district competitions and the U18 Provincial Championships.
