The Weyburn Police Service responded to 86 total calls for service in the week of August 18 to August 25, 2025. We followed up on some of the notable events from the week.

On Monday, August 18th, a report came in regarding a stolen pickup truck. The vehicle, stolen from behind a Weyburn business had a tracker that helped police quickly locate it. A man was located in the truck in a parking lot and arrested without incident. The truck was returned to its rightful owner undamaged.

The remainder of events all occurred on Saturday, August 23rd, beginning in the early hours of the morning when a WPS member saw a vehicle travelling down Douglas Road at a high speed. A traffic stop was conducted where officers suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol. An impaired driving investigation was conducted, where he was found to be impaired and arrested.

Police were also dispatched to a private gathering when a woman was reported to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Officers located her outside of the residence where she was arrested for being drunk in public, and later released when sober.

Officers attended another residence later in regard to a domestic disturbance. A man was arrested for breaking conditions prohibiting him from being at the residence, and later investigation revealed he had assaulted a woman and threatened to cause harm to another man. He was charged with numerous offences and held in custody before appearing in court.
