A neighbourhood renewal corporation is asking the public for assistance after a trailer and a shed were stolen.
Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal in Elmwood shared the news on social media, saying it was more than a trailer. "This is not just a trailer. It represents months of hard work, community collaboration and shared hope. Our community lot is where we gather, celebrate and build connections."
The trailer was made by a local group and designed to be mobile and taken on the road to events that bring the community together.
It wasn't just the trailer and shed that were taken. "Inside the shed are donated tables, handmade benches, flower boxes, our entrance arches and more items built and given with love for our neighbourhood," the social media post said.
"Losing this is more than a loss of property. It is a heartbreaking setback to the goodwill and energy our community has worked so hard to build."
The organization knows that with the strength of the community, the stolen items can be located. "We believe in the strength of our community. With your help we can recover what has been lost and continue building a strong and welcoming space for everyone."
