Robbery while armed with an offensive weapon/Possess weapon/ Fail to comply with court order x2
At 11:55PM, Friday night, police attended a central Brandon address for a report of a robbery. A female and her friends were approached by a male armed with a brick and a knife. The male demanded money and their beer. When the complainants said no, the male got angry and fled. A description of the suspect and statements were provided to the police. A 26 y/o Brandon man was located in the area and arrested and held for Court.
Breach of the peace
At 1:52AM Saturday morning, while conducting a traffic stop in the 1100 block of 18th Street, an intoxicated male approached police and began to interfere with the stop. He was given several opportunities to leave the area on his own, however he decided to stay and continued to interfere. A 34 y/o Winnipeg man was arrested and lodged to be released when sober
Possession of stolen property/Warrant of arrest
At 7:32PM Friday night, an off-duty officer noticed a male on a bicycle that had been reported stolen from Sobeys on August 28th. Police attended and located the male by the Keystone Centre. A 33 y/o man was arrested and released later with a court date. The bicycle was confirmed as the stolen one and returned to the owner.
Fail to Comply with Court orders
Overnight, a 19 y/o man was located in possession of a cellular phone, contrary to a court order, and in an unrelated call, a 16 y/o girl was found intoxicated and causing a disturbance in 700 block of Princess Avenue. She was bound by a 24hr curfew and conditions not to consume alcohol. Both were lodged and held for court in the morning.
Arrest Warrants x5/ Resist arrest
At 2:00PM, Friday afternoon, police were called to a south-end apartment by a female alleging a male was present and wanted by police. When members attended, the male tried hiding in the bathroom, then was hanging off the second story balcony, after a quick trip to the ground, he fled on foot. A 36 y/o man was arrested, taken to BRHC for x-rays from his fall and lodged for court.
Intoxicated
During the past 24 hours, 11 people were arrested and held due to varying levels of intoxication. All were lodged and later released when sober.

Search Warrant – Still under investigation
Shortly after 7:00PM, members of the Major Crime Section, with assistance of the Tactical Response Unit and Patrol Section executed a Criminal Code search warrant on Queens Crescent. Several people were detained, and a 35y/o Brandon man was arrested. Several charges are pending, including, but not limited to assault with a weapon, drug possession and firearms offences. The man was remanded into custody and will appear on the charges later in the week. This matter is still under investigation.
Possess weapon/ Mischief under $5000.00/ Resist arrest
At 11:13PM, Saturday night, a central Brandon resident reported her intoxicated father showed up to her house with a baseball bat and tried to gain access. After being unsuccessful, while leaving, he struck the neighbor’s vehicle with the bat causing damage. He left in a vehicle registered to him. When police located the car, they found it occupied by two males, the driver was cooperative, the passenger, who was the subject of the initial complaint, was not. The 61y/o Brandon man became aggressive, confrontational and belligerent with police. Following the deployment of nonlethal munitions, the man complied with police and was taken into custody. He will be released on a court date when sober. The driver, a 42y/o Brandon man, was found to be a suspended driver, he was arrested and released later with Highway Traffic tickets. The vehicle was impounded.
Possession of a weapon
At 3:31AM, police were requested to the 700 block of Queens Avenue. The caller reported two people attempting to break into vehicles. A 29y/o Brandon man was located in the area, a search incidental to his arrest found a can of bear spray and a folding knife. He was charged and released on a court date.
Warrants and Intoxicated people
During the past 24 hours, 3 people were arrested and held due to varying levels of intoxication. All were lodged and later released when sober. 5 people were arrested on the strength of various arrest warrants and compelled to court accordingly.
Theft Under $5000.00
Saturday at 10:40AM a 40y/o Brandon woman was observed by a Loss Prevention Officer at a local grocery store steal approximately $400.00 worth of merchandise. The property was recovered but the woman left the store. She was identified and later located by police. She was arrested and released with a court date and placed on conditions not to attend the business.

Carry Concealed Weapon
At 5:43 am, a report was received of a disturbance on Queens Cres. Upon attending the scene, multiple people were spotted fleeing. A 20-year-old male was located was located and had a concealed weapon on him. He was charged with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was later released on an undertaking for court.
Possession of a Weapon
At 11:13 pm, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1900 block of Park Ave, with two male occupants in the vehicle. The 28-year-old passenger had been drinking and was breaching his condition not to consume alcohol. He was charged with breaching his undertaking and was released to appear in court at a later date. The other 29-year-old male was found to be in possession of brass knuckles and bear spray. He was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon x 2, Fail to comply with undertaking x 2, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. He was held in custody to appear in court.
At 3:51, Police were patrolling in the 700 block of 1st St when they saw a male riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. He attempted to flee when police attempted to stop him, and once stopped he was found to be in possession of a knife. He was released on an undertaking for court.
