A wildland fire north of the junction of Highways 13 and 28 on Sunday had Yellow Grass Fire Rescue, along with aid from the Radville and Pangman fire departments, working well into the night.

Yellow Grass Fire Rescue was dispatched to the fire shortly after 4 p.m., and mutual aid was requested from the Pangman and Radville departments. The crews battled the wind-driven blaze to keep it away from a dense treeline in the valley. They were also assisted with aerial support from Farr Air, who made multiple water drops.

The fire was suppressed by 8:30 p.m., but hot spots flared up around midnight. Crews were back on the scene shortly after to deal with the hot spots, and we're back in service by 2 a.m.
