The Swift Current Steelers dropped their U14 football season opener 7-0 against Weyburn on Saturday.
It was a strong defensive game for the Steelers.
"Excellent team effort of the defence," said Steelers Head Coach Tyson Congdon. "We couldn't be prouder of their performance."
Hunter Blohm had an interception, while Josh Woods recovered two fumbles and Carter Tienkamp forced a fumble off a kick-off.
The Steelers defence held Weyburn to less than 100 yards of total offence.
The DE tandem of Cordel Busse and Davyn Lowenberger helped force 10 tackles for losses in the game.
Micah Siemens and Nate Jacobson split snaps at QB.
The Steelers play the Gators on Saturday afternoon at Colts Field.
