A 19-year-old male has been arrested following an animal abuse investigation at his home.

Investigators were informed by the Humane Society’s Animal Protection Services that the man was seeking medical treatment at the hospital for injuries caused by an animal in his care. Through the investigation, the Animal Protection Services learned that the injuries were a result of the man committing sexual acts on the animals.

Three cats were removed from the home by Sex Crimes investigators accompanied by General Patrol officers and Animal Protection Officers on June 13. The cats were taken to a veterinary clinic for medical exams and later transported and sheltered at the Humane Society.

The 19-year-old male was arrested at his home on August 28. He faces charges such as bestiality, causing unnecessary suffering to an animal, inflict upon an animal acute suffering, serious injury or harm, or extreme anxiety, or distress that significantly impairs its health or wellbeing.

He was released on an Undertaking.
