A newly recruited urologist is now providing enhanced urinary system care for residents of Red Deer and surrounding communities.
Dr. Uday Mann has joined Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and the Central Alberta Urology Clinic, offering comprehensive urologic care.
A urologist treats conditions related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system using both medical and surgical approaches. Mann’s expertise includes kidney stones, enlarged prostates and laparoscopic surgery.
“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Mann to Red Deer, where his advanced training and commitment to patient-centred care will greatly enhance urologic services for our community,” said Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services and MLA for Red Deer-North.
“His expertise and enthusiasm for serving Albertans make him a valuable addition to our healthcare team.”
Jason Stephan, MLA for Red Deer-South, also welcomed the new recruit.
“Red Deer is the third largest city in the best province in Canada,” Stephan said. “It is good to see medical professionals coming to Red Deer to serve families and individuals in our wonderful community.”
Mann completed medical school at the University of Alberta, a urology residency at the University of Manitoba, and a fellowship in endourology and laparoscopic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Raised in Edmonton, Mann said he and his fiancée are glad to be back in Alberta, close to family, friends and the mountains.
“Returning to Alberta to provide medical care to our home community is both a privilege and an exciting opportunity,” he said.
“I was also drawn to the strong, innovative urology group in Red Deer. It’s an honour to join a team that’s committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.”
Outside of medicine, Mann enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and walking his dog.
