Tail Light Tuesday saw a decent turnout for the start of September.

The kids may be back in school, but the Rogue Cruisers are still taking over the Living Sky Casino parking lot every Tuesday evening, with over 80 vehicles turning up in their most recent show.

Co-founding member of the Rogue Cruisers, Ron Schultz, was glad to see so many people come down despite how busy back-to-school can be.

"It was a great evening," said Schultz. "The temperature was nice now that it's getting cold, but we had probably between 80 and 100 cars, with great people."

Joining the Rogue Cruisers this month as the non-profit partner is the SPCA Swift Current. Kash Knight, fundraising manager for the SPCA Swift Current, will be on hand every Tuesday night taking in donations for the animal shelter and answering people's questions.

"It's been amazing," said Knight. "We're pretty happy with the donations that came in."

During their first show on Tuesday, the SPCA had a cat donation jar and a dog donation jar. Knight noted that the dog jar seemed to be handily winning between the two for donations.

Schultz explained his support for the dogs.

"I'd rather have a bed for my dog," said Schultz.

Knight and others from the SPCA will be in attendance for The Big One, happening on September 16. They are currently selling 50/50 tickets, which will limit out at $20,000.

"Obviously, the more tickets we sell, the bigger that jackpot gets," said Knight. "We also just opened submissions for the 2026 Pet Calendar."

For $10, people can submit photos of their pets to be featured in the calendar. Submissions can be made by following the link available on the SPCA Swift Current Facebook page. On September 11th at the Great Plains College, the SPCA Swift Current will be hosting its information night.

"We're doing a dog behavioural demonstration," said Knight. "People will get to meet our key team members and learn how they can  get involved as volunteers with us."

As always, Tail Light Tuesday, even during The Big One, is free to attend and enter. People simply need to show up with their vehicle and park while spaces are available. Non-show cars are asked to park outside the show space, which is the northwest corner of the parking lot.

"That's what this is all about," said Schultz. "For any auto enthusiast who wants to show off what they have or wants to get ideas on what they want to do with something that they have. Maybe they got one out in the pasture that somebody is going to restore, or got started up, and it just came out of the pasture. That's great. There are lots of guys you can ask questions and talk to about that here."

Schultz encouraged everyone to join the Rogue Cruisers for the Cruisin' the Market Show n' Shine at Market Square coming up on Saturday.
