Hudson Darby is coming home.

The Swift Current Broncos have acquired the 18-year-old forward from the Portland Winterhawks for recent U.S. draft pick Easton Dozark.

“We are excited to add Hudson to our organization,” said Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie in a media release. “We feel he will be a tremendous addition to our young group. He competes, has high-end character, and will help provide leadership and culture to the young core we are building. We are happy to welcome him back home.”

Darby put up 7 goals and 13 assists last season for the Winterhawks.

He has produced 32 points over 118 WHL regular-season games and 8 points in 33 playoff games.

Darby added 70 points in 75 games over two seasons with the Swift Current U18 AAA Home Hardware Legionnaires.

He's a 6'2" and 182lbs right-shot forward who turns 19 this season and has two years left of WHL eligibility.

Dozark was Swift Current's pick, 13th overall, in the 2025 WHL U.S. Priority Draft.

The 2010-born defenceman had 38 points in 29 games with the  Minnesota Blue Ox U14AAA Program, while also putting up 69 points in 55 games for the Moorhead Bantam AA team.

The native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota is listed at 6'1 and 174lbs. 

report from The Scouting News said the Sioux Falls native "proved to every scout in the building at USA Hockey nationals that he was one of the best 2010s in the country."

Hudson's brother Griffin Darby remains with the Winterhawks. Their father Regan Darby is a former WHL and professional hockey player who has been an assistant coach for the Broncos over the past two seasons.

The Broncos continue their pre-season on Friday and Saturday against Moose Jaw.
