Police Media Releases

Arrest Warrant 

On September 3rd at approximately 1:00 AM Police observed a 36-year-old female in the VLT area of a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. The female attempted to avoid police. She was located in the parking lot and arrested on the strength of her Endorsed and Unendorsed Warrants for Arrest. She was held at Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells for court in the morning on September 3rd, 2025. 

  

Arrest Warrant 

On September 2, 2025, at approximately 7:31 AM, police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance involving a woman in the back lane of the 200 block of 9th Street. Upon arrival, officers located the 39-year-old female and confirmed that she was the subject of an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest. She was taken into custody and held at BPS detention cells, pending a court appearance that morning. 

  

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime / Flight / Failure to Comply Probation Order 

A Brandon resident reported that between September 1st at 9:00PM and September 2nd at 8:30AM, a white GMC Sierra truck was stolen from Waterloo Crescent out of a garage. With the assistance of technology and the RCMP a collaborative recovery of the vehicle occurred near Carberry. The operator gave himself up, was arrested and charged accordingly, and brought back to BPS detention cells for court in the morning. The male was also issued a ticket for driving while disqualified. 

  

Breach of the Peace 

On September 2nd at approximately 10:35 AM, a 23-year-old male became confrontational with an officer while being escorted from the Brandon Police Service following his release from detention cells. As a result, he was re-arrested and held in BPS detention cells until he was calm. 

  

Assault with a Weapon 

On September 2, 2025, at approximately 1:33 PM, an employee from a business in the 700 block of Princess Avenue reported that two males had approached two individuals, and one of the suspects attempted to stab them. The two approached reached safety unharmed, and the suspects left the area. Video surveillance was available, and witness statements were collected. A short time later, the 26-year-old male suspect was located, arrested, and charged in relation to the incident. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court appearance scheduled for November 6, 2025. 

  

Possession of a Firearm/Weapon Contrary to Order x3 

On September 2nd at 1:54PM police were notified of a male who had flashed a handgun and was headed to a business in the 000 block of 10th Street. The male was located by police and an imitation BB gun was located. He was arrested and held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on September 3rd, 2025. 

 

 

September 04, 2025

Breach of the Peace / IPDA 

In the past 24 hours there were two individuals arrested for IPDA and four for Breach of the Peace. They were brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS), held in detention cells and will be released once sober/calm. 

  

Break & Enter / Uttering Threats 

Follow-up to investigation from August 25th, 2025, regarding a Break & Enter on Willowdale Crescent, a 23-year-old male was arrested at his residence on September 3rd. He was released via Undertaking with a court date of October 23rd, 2025. 

  

Arrest Warrant – Canada Wide – Parole – Unlawfully at Large 

On September 3rd at 9:26AM a 31-year-old male was arrested during a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was wanted on a Canada Wide Parole Warrant. He was arrested and taken to Brandon Correction Centre. Proper authorities notified. 

  

Stolen Vehicle Recovered  

On September 3rd at approximately 7:37 AM, Brandon Police received a report of a stolen 2018 Ford Escape from a residence in the 200 block of Rosser Avenue. The vehicle was believed to have been taken sometime between 2:00PM September 2nd and 7:00AM September 3rd. Within three hours of notification the vehicle was located in the 800 block of Assiniboine Avenue. Both passenger-side tires were found to be flat, and the keys remained inside the vehicle. It was towed for forensic examination, and the owner was notified. Should anyone have information on this incident, please contact BPS at the non-emergency line of 204-729-2345. 

  

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) 

On September 3rd at approximately 4:46 PM, officers came across a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of 10th Street and Richmond Avenue. A single vehicle had left the roadway, driving through a fence and into the yard of a residence on Broda Bay. The 51-year-old male driver is believed to have experienced a medical episode while driving home from work. Brandon Fire & Emergency Services responded to the scene to provide medical care. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the incident as the driver blew zero. The collision resulted in damage to a deck attached to the residence, and Manitoba Highways was notified due to damage sustained by a nearby light pole. No other injuries were reported, and no charges have been laid. The vehicle was towed.
