Remains found on banks of Red River near University of Manitoba

The Winnipeg Police Service is investigating after human remains were found near the University of Manitoba on Tuesday. 

Officers said the remains were found on the banks of the Red River near the University. 

Officers had been called to an area near Markham Road and University Crescent around 1:30 p.m. on September 2.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
