Saturday will see the return of the Cruisin' the Market car show in Swift Current.
Following Market Square, people will be able to walk in and amongst the classic, the restored, and the custom rides lining First Avenue North, Herbert Street East, and Memorial Park.
For the second year now, the Rogue Cruisers will be running the car show element on behalf of the City of Swift Current. Both Dustin Vipond and Cory Schultz, co-founding members of the Rogue Cruisers, are inviting everyone with a ride they want to show off to join them at the show.
"It's going to be a great day, and we're expecting some great cars," said Schultz. "We've had lots of support from the City in the background beforehand, and we got some past City employees helping out."
Registration will open at 8 a.m. and will close at 11 a.m.
The car show officially starts at 11 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m.
Vipond is eager to see all the awards handed out, which range from the Mayor's Choice Award to the Best Patina Award. In total, there are 14 awards to be handed out.
"We let all the sponsors pick their own categories (for the awards)," said Vipond. "There's an In Progress Award and a Kids' Choice Award, which should be fun."
With the show occupying street space, parking will require a small walking commute to attend the show. Saturday means parking limits will be lifted, allowing people to leave their vehicles for more than two hours.
"There are lots of places a guy can park, walk on over, and enjoy the market," said Schultz. "And enjoy the car show while getting their steps in for the day."
The Swift Current Legion Branch 56 will be hosting a barbecue, sponsored by Redhead Equipment, during the show. People are invited to check out other venues in the downtown core while the show takes place.
