While that high heat has left, this weekend will still be quite warm.
With a high of 19 on Saturday and a high of 20 on Sunday, the weekend will be perfect to get out of the home.

Friday, September 5:
As part of this week's Nature Fridays event at the Environmental Education Centre in Okotoks, they will be teaching about Fall Harvest and Garden Magic. Youth will be able to learn how crops are grown in Alberta, why autumn is the ideal time for harvest, and more. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Okotoks Museum and Archives is hosting an Open House on Friday and Saturday to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Museum. The event is free, and people will learn about the history of the Museum.
In High River, the Trail's End Gathering of cowboy poets and country and western singers runs from high noon on Friday until 5 p.m. and then an evening performance from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Crossing, formerly the High River Gospel Church. It also runs on Saturday at the same times.
Over at the Viking Rentals Centre, the Okotoks Farmers' Market will happen from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and people will be able to buy fresh food, treats, and more.
Friday nights are Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre, which allows those under the age of 18 to enjoy the Rec Centre pool and gymnasium until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m.
Saturday, September 6:
Down in Longview, the Longview Country Market will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market will happen until Sept. 27.
At the Okotoks Art Gallery, they are hosting a meet and greet with their newest Artists in Residence. This is their third-ever Artist in Residence.
The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting their perogy lunch and meat draw, with lunch being served at noon.
The Okotoks Museum and Archives is hosting an open house to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The High River Half marathon, put on by FAIM, gets underway at 9 a.m. at George Lane Memorial Park.
In High River, the High River Handicrafts Guild is hosting their annual display of quilts and needlework, which have been completed by their members. This will be taking place at the Red Barn at Sheppard Family Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's all part of the Sheppard Family Threshing Day celebration. Threshing takes place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with beef on a bun and pies ready to be gobbled up.
Culture Days in High River also get underway at 10 a.m. at The Venue with a Culture of Art - a handmade art market, and runs until 4 p.m. Five artists will showcase their work and demonstrations.
Sunday, September 7:
In George Lane Park in High River, there is a free outdoor concert that features five artists. The event starts at 2:30 p.m. It's the kick-off for the High River Gift of Music's new season.
The Gratitude Concert is also taking place on Sunday night at The Venue as a way to thank all the volunteers who helped out over the summer but it's open to anyone. It runs from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring Ann Vriend and the Kinjo Brothers.
