The Bienfait Legion is keeping the community entertained this September, despite having to cancel one of their popular events.
Denise Taylor, the Legion’s bookkeeper, joined us in the studio to give an update. “The chili cook-off has been called off this year due to lack of interest,” Taylor said. “Hopefully we can bring it back next year.”
But supporters of the Legion have something exciting to look forward to: a piano show featuring the talented group, the Sirens. The event takes place on September 20, with a roast beef supper starting at 5 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 and promise not only a hearty meal but an evening of exceptional entertainment.
Taylor explained that while the fundraiser is general, proceeds will go toward updating the Legion’s facilities, including new windows, with future plans focusing on the kitchen. “We’re always looking at ways to improve our Legion,” she said.
For those interested in tickets or more information, the Bienfait Legion is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets can also be reserved by calling 306-461-4320 or emailing bienfaitlegion169@gmail.com.
The Bienfait Legion continues to offer both community engagement and entertainment, proving it remains a hub for local events and fundraising.
