Manitoba West District CREST arrest male unlawfully at large
On September 2, 2025, RCMP officers with the Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) attended the RM of Yellowhead to locate a 42-year-old male who was unlawfully at large in the area.
Scott Purdy, from Shoal Lake, had outstanding charges and warrants out of both Alberta and Saskatchewan. He was wanted for:
- Forcible confinement
- Assault with weapon
- Criminal Harassment
- Assault on police officer
- Resist/Obstruct peace officer
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
On September 3, 2025, CREST along with assistance from Manitoba RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), officers from Yellowhead RCMP, and RCMP Police Dog Services arrested Purdy without incident on his property in Shoal Lake.
A subsequent search of the property resulted in the seizure of a suspected stolen camper and a firearm.
Purdy remains in custody and will be transported back to Alberta, by Alberta RCMP.
