SPCA Swift Current was the featured partner at the final Taste of Summer Community BBQ.
Close to 150 people were in attendance, which amounted to over $1,500 raised for SPCA Swift Current
Fundraising manager Kash Knight says donations like this help in a variety of ways.
"So that can look like a few different things," said Knight. "Giving vaccines to all the animals that we have in our care, microchipping all the animals, as well as spaying and neutering everyone that comes to us. And then if we have any sick animals, we also make sure that they get their treatment to get better."
Knight also notes that some of the funds will go to both shelter maintenance and event planning
SPCA Swift Current is continuing their fundraising efforts throughout the fall, with a Volunteer Information Night at Great Plains College on September 11, as well as a 50/50 raffle for the month of September.
Additionally, SPCA Swift Current is starting to accept photo submissions for the 2026 SPCA Pet Calendar.
