The final month of summer wrapped up for the southeast, and Environment and Climate Change Canada took a look at some of the figures they'd been following over the weeks.
Meteorologist Crawford Luke details the rainfall that the area received over the last month.
"For the month of August, we had 37.8 millimeters at our station there. That compares to the long-term normal of 47.4. So it's a little bit on the drier side, but it's definitely kind of fairly close to normal, I would say. Nothing really too notable, I guess."
Temperatures, meanwhile, were mostly normal; however, Luke says there was one bit of weather that threw off the average.
"It was a bit warmer than normal. That warm spell we had at the end of the month really kind of helped bump our temperatures up slightly. So we basically finished about a half degree warmer than normal for our average temperature."
"The long-term average is 18.4. This year is 18.9 degrees. So that was basically an average high of 26.1 and an average morning low of 11.7. The average of those two is how we take the average temperatures. "
Luke says their totals across the summer months came out similarly average.
