Members of the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce were on hand last week to honour a local business with the SCBEX Hall of Fame Award.
Smart Flowers has been in business for 50 years, and owner Poppy Parsons was extremely grateful to receive this recognition.
"Celebrating 50 years this year was a huge accomplishment, to carry on that legacy that Jim Smart started back in 1975," said Parsons. "And to be recognized by community leaders, I'm just blown away and truly honoured."
Parsons has also reached out to former owners Jim Smart and Pat Friesen to attend the SCBEX Awards ceremony on November 7.
Chamber CEO Corla Rockochy spoke about the impact that SmartFlowers and all its partners have had on the community.
"All three of the owners have served in different capacities on the chamber board—here in Swift Current, and also provincially and nationally," Rockochy said. "So they've had a real impact on the Chamber of Commerce, and we really appreciate that as well as their long-term commitment to downtown business and business within Swift Current and the district."
The Big Reveal ceremony to narrow down the finalists for the 2025 SCBEX awards will take place on September 18 at Great Plains College. More information on the 2025 SCBEX Awards can be found at swiftcurrentchamber.com
