The Estevan 60 and Over Club continues to grow its activities and events, welcoming members and the wider community to join in.
Elaine Carriere, a director with the club, explained that an events committee was formed to keep things lively. “We try to have dances, we have cards, we have game night, crib tournaments, we have a whist tournament. So there are all kinds of activities that we’re trying to implement,” she said.
Getting involved is simple, with information available on posters around the community. “Contact any one of us. Our president is Darlene Sylvester, and if you see our posters, our names are up there. Even contact Darlene,” Carriere added.
Friday’s gathering saw one of the club’s best turnouts, with live music from The Garden Party featuring Riley Horton and Aarono Folkertz. Carriere noted that entertainment is a regular part of their programming. “We usually have a DJ. He’s done really well, Darwin Gim, and he probably will be doing our dance coming up. So we’re looking forward to that.”
Carriere also emphasized that events are open to everyone. “Come out, and you don’t have to be 60 or over to come. We just welcome everybody.”
