Lacombe County Council Highlights

2024 Municipal Indicators
Lacombe County met or exceeded all but two indicators — Investment in Infrastructure and Infrastructure Age — in the 2024 Municipal Indicators report. Alberta Municipal Affairs deems the County “not at risk.”

Policy Updates

  • Staff Retirement Policy (AD (14)) – Expanded eligibility and adjusted award amounts approved.

  • Committees, Commissions & Boards Policy (CC (3)) – Updates approved, effective at the 2025–2026 Organizational Meeting.

  • Roads to Service the Resource Industry Policy (OP (36)) – Five-year life span wording for coal bed methane wells removed; maintenance security capped at $50,000 per company.

Regional Collaboration Committee
Council approved the Terms of Reference for the North Blindman River Tri-Municipal Collaborative with the City of Lacombe and Town of Blackfalds to strengthen regional partnerships.

2026 Fleet Equipment Purchases
Council authorized the tender and purchase of seven replacement units at an estimated net cost of $1.297 million, funded through the Fleet and Equipment Reserve.

Land Transaction
Council approved negotiations for Eagle Builders to purchase 121.9 m² (0.0301 acres) of a Public Utility Lot in the North Aspelund Industrial Park.
