Estevan police dealt with a variety of incidents over the September 4–6 period, including a robbery, mischief, and welfare checks.

On September 4, officers investigated the theft of fuel from a slip tank in the back of a vehicle. A statement was obtained and the matter remains under investigation. Police also received a report of criminal harassment; a statement was taken and the investigation continues.

That day, officers conducted a welfare check on a woman who was reportedly speaking nonsensically and possibly under the influence of drugs. In another call, members assisted EMS with a male in medical distress until paramedics arrived on scene.

On the morning of September 5, a robbery was reported. Later that day, a 34-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on Monday, September 8.

Also on September 5, a 33-year-old woman was arrested for mischief on the city’s east end. Due to intoxication and having no place to go, she was lodged in police cells and released the next morning on conditions of no contact.

Police conducted another welfare check in the Hillside area, confirming the individual was safe. Youths were issued summary offence tickets following a complaint about littering in a local business parking lot and were instructed to clean up the area.

A driver was issued a three-day licence suspension and vehicle impoundment for operating a motor vehicle while consuming intoxicants.

On September 6, police concluded an investigation into a series of indecent acts reported in August. Multiple reports were received regarding an adult male exhibiting concerning behaviour at city stores. Following the investigation, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with four counts of committing an indecent act under the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court in October.

Police are reminding residents to report suspicious behaviour as quickly as possible and provide detailed descriptions to help officers identify individuals, particularly when a suspect leaves the scene before police arrive.
