Grain Rush driven by Great Plains Ford continued today as we took some delicious KFC out to Shane McIntosh and his crew, thanks to I-Zan Tire.

McIntosh noted that they are about halfway through harvest but have to wait a bit longer to finish up, particularly with their barley.

“We’re kind of sitting, waiting on stuff to turn right now,” he said. “We had that six inches of rain there during seeding and that shut us down for 12 days. So we’re kind of sitting at that point, I think.”

He noted that while they are delayed on barley, they also have canola, peas, durum and more on the go.

“You kind of got to if you want to survive in this day and age,” he said.

He also added, like many others in the area, that the yields this year are better than they have been in a long time.

“They’re definitely above average.”

Congrats to Shane and good luck with the rest of harvest!

You can be part of this years Grain Rush, just like Steve! Send your nominations in now and we could be bringing some delicious KFC your way!
