If you were born in the 1960s, like me, and you're still working, you likely get the business from time-to-time like I do.

"When are you retiring?", they ask.

I've answered the question in a variety of ways, but I usually tell people that I enjoy what I do and want to continue doing it!

I was inspired by a number of people on the weekend - Saturday night at the River Street Promotions event we call "Homestand".

Children's entertainer Fred Penner was there. I met him backstage and watched him stretch out and get into his zone. He was awesome. He'll be 79 years old in November.

Later in the evening, I had the pleasure of introducing Streetheart. They rocked the park, playing all the hits they produced through the 70s, 80s and beyond.

The boys in the band left it all on the stage.

Founding member, keyboardist Daryl Gutheil still has magic in his fingers. He was great.

Leader guitarist Jeff Neill didn't miss. His performance was close to perfect. He's been with the band since 1981 - 44 years.

These guys are living proof that an old, inspirational quote holds true; "Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."
