The following is the RCMP report to September 1, 2025.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

 

-  48 traffic violations

-  14 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

-  27 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

-  11 crimes against property 

-  9 other criminal code

-  6 crimes against person

-  3 traffic accidents

 

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

 

August 18, 2025

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Boissevain. Police spoke with all parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in the RM of Prairie Lakes.

Police received a report under the controlled drugs and substance act in Hartney. Police attended however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
 

August 19, 2025

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Cartwright.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Boissevain.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
 

August 20, 2025

Police received a report of theft in Ninette. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of mischief to a vehicle in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of harassing communications in the RM of Argyle. Police followed up with the complainant however the matter was unfounded.
 

August 21, 2025

Police responded to a call for an assault in Killarney. After further investigation police were able to determine the matter was unfounded and no assault had occurred.

Police assisted with a matter under the child, youth and family act in Killarney.

Police received a report of failing to comply with a court order in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
 

August 22, 2025

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Killarney.

Police responded to a call for an assault in Killarney. After further investigation members were able to determine no assault had taken place.

Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the RM or Cartwright-Roblin. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call for youths pointing a firearm in Boissevain. Police were in the area and completed extensive patrols however no one was located. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call for failure to comply with an undertaking in Killarney. A male was arrested and released with an appearance notice to appear in court at a later date.
 

August 23, 2025

Police received a report of a suspicious person in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The matter was concluded.

Police received a request for a wellbeing check in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Prior to responding police received an update that they were no longer required.

Police responded to a call under the 911 act in Belmont. While responding police were told they were no longer required. Police then again were called to attend the same address but for a wellbeing check. All parties were located safe.
 

August 25, 2025

Police received a report of a breach of peace in the RM of Killarney Turtle-Mountain. Police followed up with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of failure to comply with an undertaking in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a burnt vehicle in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police attended, had the vehicle towed and updated the owners.

Police received a report of uttering threats in Boissevain. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only and did not want any follow up.

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle in Deloraine. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report under the off-road vehicle act in Deloraine. Police patrolled the area however all ATV's were gone on arrival. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. All parties were located safe.
 

August 26, 2025

Police responded to a call for police assistance in Killarney. The matter was concluded.

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Boissevain. Police spoke with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report under the off-road vehicle act in Deloraine. Police followed up with the complainant who did not have any additional information. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report for an animal call in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Police were able to locate the person in question and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to a report for a breach of peace in Deloraine. A female was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.
 

August 27, 2025

Police received a report of being unlawfully in a dwelling. Police attended and removed the subject of complaint from the home without issue. No charges were laid.

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in the RM of Prairie Lakes. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Members were able to speak with the parties involved and the matter was concluded without charges.
 

August 28, 2025

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in the RM of Argyle. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of mischief in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. The complainant was reporting for information purposes to have the incident on file.

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of an intoxicated person in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police attended and a male was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Cartwright. Police were able to locate a female that was arrested and lodged in cells until sober. She was released without charges.

Police received a report of a possible impaired driver in Belmont. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival.
 

August 29, 2025

Police received a report for a neighbour dispute in Belmont. The matter is under investigation.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Deloraine. All parties were located safe.

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in the RM of Killarney Turtle-Mountain. Police were in the area and completed patrols however the vehicle was not located.

Police received multiple requests for wellbeing checks for a female walking along the highway in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. Police attended and spoke with the female. Police departed with no concerns.

Police received a report for an animal complaint in Holmfield. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of an unwanted person at a residence in Cartwright. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.
 

August 30, 2025

Police received multiple reports of a suspicious person in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police had received multiple calls regarding this person and there were no safety concerns. The matter was concluded.

Police responded to a 911 call for a 2-vehicle traffic collision in the RM of Argyle. A male from one vehicle was pronounced deceased while a male from the 2nd vehicle was getting medical attention for minor injuries. The matter is under investigation.


August 31, 2025

Police received a report of theft in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Reminders:

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian AntiFraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE (204) 523-7255 or 911.  The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend.  Members may be in another community or on the road. 

DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE IF YOU REQUIRE IMMEDIATE POLICE ASSISTANCE, YOU MUST DIAL 204-523-7255 (Killarney), 204-534-7261 (Boissevain), 204-747-2575 (Deloraine) OR 911 TO HAVE A POLICE OFFICER RESPOND TO YOU.  This will dispatch an officer without dispatching ambulance and fire unless required.
