The Estevan Arts Council is gearing up for an exciting fall season, offering music, film, and opportunities for community involvement.
Joining the conversation this week, Arts Council President Gale Tytlandsvik shared highlights of the upcoming events.
First on the schedule is Canadian folk singer-songwriter and three-time Juno Award winner Connie Calder, who will perform at the Estevan Concert Series on Wednesday, October 1. “She’s an incredible storyteller and musician, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to our stage,” she said.
The series continues with performances from Lee Siegel, who will present a solo retrospective, followed by Jacka. The council is encouraging residents to attend and enjoy the diverse musical offerings throughout the season.
In addition to live music, the Arts Council also brings films to the big screen at the Orpheum Theater. Featured films in the coming months include Life of Chuck, screening on September 20 as part of the Toronto International Film Festival, and Bob Trevino Likes It, showing October 25.
Tytlandsvik also highlighted opportunities for residents to get involved in shaping the local arts scene. On October 8, the council is inviting creative, motivated individuals to join and contribute ideas as the organization embraces a new vision following the retirement of several long-time members. “We’re looking for people who want to help guide the future of arts in Estevan,” she said.
