It's been in the works for a while, and the Town of Morris will be launching its new website Thursday (September 11th).

"The town was fortunate enough to receive an accessibility grant, so we can make the website much more accessible to people, get the data better organized and make it easier to keep updated, which was a major focus of the redesign," explained Mayor Scott Crick. "It will even facilitate a lot of transactions with the town, whether it's water bills, whether it's property taxes. A lot of things will be moving online and available online, which should especially help those who might be mobility challenged."

Town clean up in Morris coming soon

Meanwhile, Crick is sharing the dates for the community's next town-wide clean-up a little early, so residents can plan ahead of time.

"I do get questions about when is the next town cleanup coming," he said. "We've also had issues with the extra waste and recycling repositories we have at the the town yard, so it seems like a good time to remind people we will have a town clean up coming."

It will be from October 14th to 17th.

"The 14th to the 15th is for people on the west side of Highway 75, the 16th and 17th is for people on the east side of 75," he explained. "So don't worry, the fall town cleanup is coming. I think it is important to note, as well, the Town of Morris is one of the few communities that actually do still offer not just a spring town cleanup, but a fall one as well, too. It's a great opportunity to keep our town looking clean and neat, and we're more than happy to take away all of your unwanted items."
