Estevan police responded to several calls for service on Sept. 8.

Officers were called to the downtown core for a report of a woman screaming. Police say she was not causing a disturbance when they made contact and was warned about her behaviour before being sent on her way.

Police also received a report of a vehicle failing to stop for a school bus while its stop arm and lights were activated as children were exiting. Officers remind drivers that under the Traffic Safety Act, vehicles in both directions must stop and remain stopped until the bus’s stop arm is retracted and lights are no longer flashing.

That night, officers investigated a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist. Police say the driver was taken to hospital and later released with no significant injuries. The investigation determined the cyclist was at fault.

In a separate incident, police issued a $1,492 speeding ticket along with a seven-day driver’s licence suspension and a 30-day vehicle impoundment after a driver was clocked travelling 192 km/h in an 80 km/h zone east of the city.
