Seniors in Lacombe will have a chance to connect, learn and have fun at the third annual seniors’ expo on Sept. 26.
The one-day event, open to those 55 and older, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. Tickets are $25.
The day will begin with breakfast, light exercise and a morning message, followed by information booths and workshops.
Participants can choose from two of five sessions, including downsizing, balance and mobility, virtual golf, cornhole and mocktails, or mindfulness strategies.
A lunch will follow along with entertainment that will stay a surprise until the event day.
Wendy Griffin, community project coordinator with Lacombe and District FCSS, said the expo is a chance for seniors to engage with one another and try something new.
“It's just another opportunity for them to get out, make some new friends, meet some new people, and just maybe gain a new opportunity that they wouldn't have gained for themselves or have an experience that they haven't had before,” Griffin said.
Seniors can register online or pay in person at the Lacombe and District FCSS office.
