A Siksika Nation resident has been charged with second-degree murder, following a fatal collision Sunday night.
On Sept. 7, around 9 p.m., the Strathmore RCMP responded to a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Pine Road in Strathmore.
The victim, a 24-year-old resident of Siksika Nation, was located by RCMP and EMS and taken to a Calgary hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit took over the investigation, and as a result, has charged 22-year-old Kyera Oldwoman of Siksika Nation with second-degree murder.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Oldwoman was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Siksika on Sept. 11.
