The Swift Current/Moose Jaw region continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.
The region's seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate sat at 2.4% in August.
It's another massive drop from 5.4% in August 2024.
That unemployment rate is 1.1% lower than any other community in the country.
There were 53,200 employed in Swift Current/Moose Jaw last month.
That's of 1200 jobs year-over-year.
The local labour force shrank from 55,100 in August 2024 to 54,500 last month.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Canada was 7.1% in August.
Saskatchewan saw the lowest unemployment rate amongst provinces at 4.7%
"Once again, with record job numbers and low unemployment, we have proven why we are the best place to live, work and raise a family in Canada," said Rosetown-Delisle MLA, Deputy Premier, and Immigration and Career Training Minister Jim Reiter in a media release. "Our government is committed to ensuring that this growth continues and we have the labour force to support our strong economy."
