Music, food, and a Rider game what more could you ask for on a Saturday night?
JJ Voss, musical artist, joined Sarah Miller this morning on the Bolt Breakfast Show to talk about the upcomng event this weelend.
“It’s going to be a full day. You can get tickets at danceland.ca. If you’re coming from the Humboldt area, we’re going to be showing the football game at 5:00 pm because booking a show on top of a Rider game day is kind of… it’s something you shouldn’t do, so we’re making sure we’re taking care of everything. We got the game showing at 5:00 pm and then supper is going to be served at halftime 6:30 pm. Then you can choose between either a burger and a beer package, or else there’s a BBQ buffet with ribs and the whole nine.”
After the Rider game and supper the band will be taking the stage and pumping out the tunes.
“We’re on at 8:00 pm with myself and my band."
When asked about his music, Voss said, “Kind of smack dab between a few different genres between country, folk, roots, rock. Those are kind of all my influences. I’ve never really found kind of a home… I’ve received airplay on country radio, so that’s probably the closest. I’ve had three albums out over the years.”
Tickets are also avalible at the door if you don't buy them in advance.
In closing JJ had this to say to his Humboldt fans.
“I’m just looking forward to being back in Watrous and as far as we haven’t been out to Humboldt this year yet as we’ve kind of been there pretty much every year over the last four or five. So hopefully we get some friends coming from the Humboldt area.”
