The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scouts are hosting a bottle drive this weekend!
The Scouts will be going door-to-door on Saturday looking for recycling donations. They will also be set up at their space in the Town ‘N’ Country Mall between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. accepting drop-offs.
The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scouts are also in need of a new space to run their meetings.
“Our wish list is to have our own space where we can put up our posters and proudly display our awards and achievements that these kids do,” said Laura Alton, group commissioner for the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Scouts. “A space where we can set up tents and work on our Scout woodworking projects without having to lock everything away after every meeting.”
While there is a waiting list for Beaver Scouts (age 5-7), it’s not too late to join Cub Scouts (age 8-10), Scouts (age 11-14) and Venturer Scouts (age 15-17). Scout member Sawyer Alton says one of his favourite things about being in scouts is meeting new people.
“When I go to Scouts every day, I recognize most of the people there as family and friends.”
