Enrollment for the Chinook School Division this year is sitting at 6021 students.
That's just over their projection of 6017.
"We also know in the time from now to the end of September there's some changes," said Chinook School Division Director of Education Mark Benesh. "We've had lots of additional families move in after the fact, but we also lose some hockey players, and there's some comings and goings. We're happy with the numbers where they are, but we'll wait to see where the numbers are at the end of September."
He noted enrolment is higher now than it was at this point in 2024, but lower than it was at the end of September last year.
"We really don't know how it'll (end up)," Benesh said. "We're pretty close to those numbers, which is important for budget purposes."
