Moose Jaw’s Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital is about to get a little busier—and a lot more bookish. The Hospital Auxiliary is hosting its popular used book sale at the end of the month, and Joyce McIntyre says they’re more than ready.

“We have lots and lots of books, believe me. I don't know where they're all coming from, but we do have lots,” said Joyce McIntyre. “And it also includes jigsaw puzzles, of course. Penny parade, raffle.”

The Auxiliary is still accepting donations, and McIntyre says the community is welcome to drop off books at the hospital’s gift shop. “If the gift shop is closed when they come, they can just leave them outside, and we will get them,” stated McIntyre.

The sale is a long-standing tradition, typically held twice a year. With paperbacks priced at just $1, hardcovers at $2, and Harlequin romances going for 50 cents, it’s a budget-friendly way to stock up on reading material while supporting local healthcare.

Proceeds from the sale go directly to the Health Foundation to help purchase equipment for the hospital. The sale runs from September 29 to October 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
